Studio Angius is dedicated to architectural practice which explores the potential of architectural design in the context of an increasing climatic crisis. The unprecedented climatic challenges have constantly shifted global geographic features and social attributes in recent decades. Contrary to climate destabilization, the architectural paradigm mainly remained unresponsive and passive.

As evident in the name of our project - Acclimatizer - one of our main research objectives is to expand the architectural discourse by employing adaptable and flexible approach to dwelling design that can adequately accommodate complexities brought by diverse climatic conditions and human needs.

Anticipating change as much as possible and adopting a proactive approach are in our view the most appropriate approach to mitigating habitat losses. Within the particular climatic context of the extremely cold environments, the primary objective of architecture must evolve beyond the mere provision of shelter. Architecture on the whole should contribute better to a more sustainable environment and facilitate resource sharing globally. Through the residential units and clusters with deployable morphology and movable properties Acclimatizer proposes a more dynamic prototype for future housing.

Cold anomalies exhibit discernible periodical patterns in exploring the chronology of abnormal blizzards. In terms of morphology, our research focused on bistable prototypes that could respond to climatic fluctuations. Correspondingly, the interior space undergoes concurrent transformation reflecting various individual needs. Soft structures enable and accommodate transformable furniture systems. Mobility is imperative in the context of the natural environments where these units are situated. The units are tasked with the intricate analysis and monitoring of site information, autonomously navigating to the optimal location to shield themselves from adverse climatic and geographic factors. Through a comprehensive examination of prevalent mobility methods, Acclimatizer devised a dynamic system affixed to the unit's underside.

Acclimatizer proposal consists of a multilayered and scalar design for a self-sufficient community system that responds and adapts to the predicted rise in climate-related conundrums.
